Zyma Derm - MIRACLE cure for molluscum

I have to write and tell you about this incredible product from Naturopathix, Inc., called ZymaDerm. ZymaDerm is a homeopathic remedy used to treat molluscum contagiosm. For those of you that aren't familiar with molluscum, it is a pox virus that affects mostly children, although it also can be found in adults with certain immune deficiencies.

This is what I have learned from many sources over the years (this is written from memory, so I have not cited any particular sources--trust me, if you have dealt with something like this for several years, you would be an expert on the topic, too!): Mollusca appear on the skin as flesh-colored, dome-shaped growths--similar to warts or moles. As the name implies, it is highly contagious, especially in young children who have not developed immunities to the virus. It is spread by skin-to-skin contact and has been rumored to spread through swimming pools or contact with gymnastic or wrestling mats or changing pads at daycare centers. It is considered a benign virus which traditionally has been treated, similar to warts, by freezing the mollusca off with liquid nitrogen or "zapping" with an electric needle. Most pediatricians advise against treatments for small children as the cure seems worse than the virus, which eventually will go away on its own.

Max has had a few mollusca over the past couple of years, but he never really paid any particular attention to them unless someone else was paying attention to them. He's had one on his forehead and a couple on his trunk. Sophie had two on her chest of which she was very cognizant. She religiously washed her hands after touching or scratching the bumps to prevent them from spreading and, thankfully, hers are gone.

Poor Carly developed molluscum last summer. She had two very large mollusca--one the size of a pencil eraser--in the crease of her left arm (common since it is a place where the skin rubs against itself). Carly could not keep her hands off of the bumps and I can't say I blame her. To me, it's the equivalent of having a large, ripe whitehead on your forehead--it begs to be squeezed or picked at. I tried diligently to keep her hands washed, but there was just no way to prevent the bumps from spreading. A couple of weeks ago I noticed she had some developing under her right arm. I was not looking forward to the weather becoming warmer as I knew her bumps would be visible and would subject her to ridicule from other children--a couple of Sophie's friends had made remarks about the bumps. Carly could care less if children were to tease her, but I couldn't bear the thought of anyone picking on her because of her "cooties." I was at a loss.

I ran into our pediatrician at school a couple of weeks ago and asked her if she could recommend something as I had been told by our former pediatrician that there was no topical remedy to treat the virus. She told me she had heard of a homeopathic remedy, but was not quite sure of the name. When I got home that afternoon I Googled "homeopathic treatment for molluscum contagiosm" and that's how I discovered the Naturopathix website and their amazing product, ZymaDerm.

According to the website, "ZymaDerm™ is the only FDA approved patented full strength topical homeopathic molluscum formula available anywhere." It is made from thuja extract which is derived from conifer trees. It is non-toxic. The site has some very dramatic "before" and "after" pictures, such as the "before" picture at right. I read through the testimonials and was sold. Not knowing how long it would take to treat Carly's bumps (I would say she has a moderate case of molluscum), I ordered two bottles.

My order arrived on Saturday--two small vials of ZymaDerm and the company also included a body wash which I was to use after seven days of treatment if the molluscum did not appear to be any better. After Carly's bath that evening I carefully applied the ZymaDerm to her bumps. I have to tell you that the product does not have the best smell--it's a very strong, menthol or camphor smell, but I think I would tolerate skunk oil if it did what this product did. After two applications, I am happy and amazed to report that her bumps are almost completely gone! The two especially nasty-looking bumps on her left arm are nearly invisible. This product is INCREDIBLE! I highly recommend it to anyone who is suffering with this virus. If you are not completely satisfied (which I cannot imagine), you may return the unused portion to Naturopathix for a full refund. They have removed all of the risk for you, so there really is no reason not to try this wonderful product. I am so thankful to have found this website and product--it has made a tremendous difference in our lives in a very short period of time.

Gracious, Suz I had no idea you were dealing with this. Poor kiddos. I am so glad you've found something that works.

Not something I wanted to talk about...until now! Carly's case really was minor compared to the little girl in the picture, but I could see it was getting ready to spread. I'm so thankful to have found this remedy!

I recently purchased this booklet "Richard's Sponsorless Molluscum Contagiosum Product Review Booklet" from http://www.molluscum.us site. Its really informative and the suggestions there are really effective.

Suzi Homemaker said...

Well, my goodness, Richard! I hope you found some relief. I swear by ZymaDerm, as it worked for us, but, as I mentioned, my daughter had a relatively mild case as opposed to some I have seen or heard of. I would love to know if ZymaDerm was something you tested; however, I can't justify spending $30 on the book since I've already found a product that worked for us. I'm so sorry you had to suffer with the virus for so long.

And, of course, that is assuming you are the same Richard who wrote the booklet--I apologize if I leapt to an inaccurate conclusion. I appreciate your comment!

I am looking into Zyma Derm for my 6 year old who evidently has mollascum. Not sure how he got it, but being in school Im guessing that would be the place. Who knows. Glad this product worked for your family and it appears that my son has a pretty case on his torso, so hopefully the outcome will be great. Have you had any reoccurances?
Thanks!

Leanne said...

meant to say he has a pretty MILD case on his torso. It started out as just 4-5 and the pediatrician said it would go away on its own, just leave it alone. So, it has been a few months now and it seems to be spreading to about 25 small little "pre-pimple-looking" spots. So, he will be rechecked tomorrow since it is his yearly exam, and then we will probly move forward with purchasing Zyma Derm. It is not cheap by any means, but I am banking on the previous customers comments about it's effectiveness. Im just really surprised that the pediatricians don't carry something in office for something that appears to be pretty common. hhhmmmm. Thanks for the blog.

Zymaderm worked great for my 4 year old (who got it when he was 18months old) but did not work for my 9 month old recently. I would say it is definitely worth a try!

Leanne - I'm happy to report my daughter's skin is still clear! She was getting a pretty decent breakout under her arm when I started using the product. That since has cleared up. Occasionally she will get a "rogue" mollusca, but I just dab it with the Zyma Derm and it takes care of it pretty quickly.

As far pediatricians, my doc is the one who told me to research a homeopathic remedy, when I told her about Zyma Derm, she immediately took the information down. The folks at Zyma Derm also willingly provide samples to the doctors' offices.

I wish you success in treating your son's case!

Suzi Homemaker said...

Anonymous - I'm sorry the Zyma Derm did not work for your 9-month-old--I wonder if age has anything to do with the product's effectiveness? Did you try contacting the company to ask? They might have some suggestions for you. Thanks for your comment!

Thought we were done with the virus, but a few more bumps have appeared. A thinly sliced piece of garlic placed over the bumps with a Band Aid or a sliced piece of garlic rubbed on the bumps made them breakdown and go away. Some of the bumps went faster than others. The garlic works for us. Unfortunately, it does burn if the bump is open. Just today an itchy rash is covering both elbows and is on the hips. Not sure if this is molluscum or something else. Frustrating.

Hi Suzi,
I found your blog from the site selling Zyma Derm and just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate your review on the product. My 3 1/2 year old little girl has had the Molluscum bumps on the back of one of her legs and a couple in a few other spots and I was told they would just run their course. Who knows how long that will be, so I'm going to try out the Zyma Derm. Thanks so much for your input.
Sincerely,
Paige

Hello Suzi & Richard. The booklet's website doesn't open here ???

I'm HIV POZ & have been suffering with minor Molluscum contagiosum infection for the past 2 years but recently it's been increasing. Until recently my doctor was freeze burning the few bumps as he keep saying that it is the only treatement available. Then I discovered ZymaDerm about 5 or 6 months ago.

I must admit I didn't treat myself rigourously as I should have and now paying the price I guess. I'm about to finish the 3rd bottle and have been way more rigourous with using the product for the past 3 weeks. I just bought 2 more bottles again a few minutes ago.

I have an apointement with my doctor in the end of March. He will most probably freeze burn a lot of the bumps. And I plan on asking him about other treatments I read (website link below) about other treatments that can be used to fight Molluscum contagiosum namely ; Cidofovir & Imoquinod (both anti-retro-viral meds) Isotretinoin aka Accutane & Tretionoin aka Retin-A (both anti-acne treatments)

Dear Suzi Homemaker,
As I read your blog I wonder what to do, what to do, do I order this or is this a scam????
Starting with our middle daughter we discovered these bumps, we just let them go, we thought they were just from her scratching. Then one got really infected and we went to the doc. He gave her meds to get rid of the infections. He said it was Molluscum contagiosum well I have been looking it up and just keep getting mixed feedback. Now in the meantime our oldest daughter now has it and its the same thing all over. Two weeks later our other daughter has it too!!!! So my family doctor says it will just go away, but they just keep getting worst!!
I have taken our children to a Naturalpath and she has them on 6 yes 6 different thing that I have to hid in their morning drink, their afternoon snack, their supper and at bedtime. I really want to try this
Zyma Derm but am unsure what to do. I have a lot of unanswered questions. I have been put on a waiting list just to get an appointment with a skin doctor, its very frustrating, especially when I turn around and a new family of them have appeared on another part of our daughters arms.

I am a very skeptical individual. When our 5 year old daughter developed molluscum, her Pediatrician tried all sorts of drugs to rid her of these nasty little bumps. When the Ped gave her Keflax hoping that would work, my wife and I were at wits end. And then we got the "well...give it time and it will go away on its own". This was an unacceptable answer for us, we did not want our daughter exposed to questions and even ridicule from other children over these bumps. I found Zymaderm on the web, and figured "what the heck. We bought a bottle and are astounded at the results. Within two weeks were are seeing substantial gains in ridding her of the bumps. This stuff really works. It seems expensive, but one tiny bottle lasts forever (unless you spill it...). Well worth the money.

I too purchased this product after going to a dermatologist with my 9 year old son. The meds he gave us seem to help but not get rid of the bumps. After a lot of research on the internet I went to Walgreens and bout a bottle for $25 dollars now only three weeks later they are only faint spots. Before he had at least 60 spots on the back of each leg that seemed to spread with the stuff the Dr. gave us. I highly reccomend this product and have since told the dermatologist about it, of course he won't make any money from suggesting it so he did not seem too excited.

My son had a horrible case of molluscum and we took him to the dermatologist and he BURNED all 80 or so of them. The next day they were all blisters and he was suffering. The blisters all popped and would ooze and spread the molluscum. I was so angry and frustrated. I took him to another dermatologist and he sold me the ZymaDerm and we applied it to the new molluscum and not much later they were all gone! The ones that were burned did dissapear without the ZymaDerm, but that was horrible for him!!!!! My daughter now has molluscum and we just got the Zymaderm and started treating her. Im praying it works well!

I just bought Zymaderm. Both my son and daughter have the beginning on their faces and I am about to lose my mind. I am curious to know if Zymaderm prevents the new batches of beginners bumps to disappear? We have been able to kill the mother on my daughters neck but it spreads without even touching them. I also believe my kids got them from the pool! UGH Help.

I have my two kids wiht this virus, that is driving me crazy!! it is already 9 months that I have been traying differente kind of creams and tons of things to take them away from my little ones, one week ago I found "Zyma Derm" at walgreens I really hope it works, my 7 year old is concern to goback to school and been bulling by her classmates.

My 3yo son started of with 1 large bump on his torso and 2 small ones his wrist at 2.5 yrs old. His pediatrician said it was MCV and like most everyone else, "to wait it out." About 8 months later 2 medium sized bumps showed up on his bottom and one in the fold of his leg/groin. Pediatrician had the same response. Now it's 3 months later and we just returned from the pedi once again, Little is covered from the top of his tush, all the way under, and back up to the top of his groin area w/ the Molluscum bumps. The original 3 in that area being infected. What does his Dr. do, prescribe the same ointment he gave my 14mo for a diaper rash and tell us, you guessed it, "to wait it out." (The bumps he started with- they are still the same.)

Not only are we furious, we are finding new a new pediatrician. If it was this easy for US to come across this remedy/blog/testimonials, why are there still SO MANY forums where parents are searching for answers and treatments for there children???

Is this REALLY FDA approved?? Because that is huge. I'm going to research that AFTER I get back from Walgreen's.

@ Suzy- did you find the body wash necessary? Did you ever use the remedy alone or akways the two together? If so, did the combo make a noticeable difference in shortening the treatment time?

THANKS FOR TAKING THE TIME OUT OF YOUR DAY TO WRITE THIS FOR THE REST OF US!!

I just bought Zymaderm and am waiting for it to arrive. My 20 year old had MC when he was five and it lasted for about 2 years! To make matters worse, they were on his face (about 3-4)! I was told to let it run its course which is what I did. I hated the stares and questions. I was overwhelmed with joy when they finally went away. Well, here I am, years later and my 2 year old now has it. I'm praying that Zymaderm works as he has over 40 of them all over his tiny body. I'll let you all know how it works for us. Until then, I'll be crossing my fingers, toes and eyes!

Anonymous said...

We waited it out for over a year for mc that was on my daughter's arm to go away. When one looked infected, I used hydrogen peroxide. That started speeding the drying and healing. I'm going to try the zymaderm on my son to see if that speeds the removal.

Wow. There is no doubt that I will be going to Walgreens to get Zymaderm. I love the fact that its homeopathic. My 5 yr old son developed a few bumps about 6 months ago and now he has aabout 20 more, and it seems to be developing on his neck and trunk. We have been covering it with bandages before school to prevent questions. I willl definitely try this out. Cross my fingers.

Hello everyone! My son started off with 2 small molluscum bumps on his tummy over 18 months ago and his doctors (i actually consulted with 3 of them in that office) ALL said the same thing- it is harmless and will eventually go away on its own, although it may take up to 18 months... 18 months later it has spread to about 20 bumps. They never even warned me about the spreading and since it was only the 2 bumps for so long, i did not think they were so dangerously spreadable. I have been reading about Zymaderm for days now and finally yesterday went out and bought a bottle. I applied last night and when i went to apply this morning, i was shocked to see that the 2 largest bumps actually looked different! The surface looks like it dried out a little! I was totally shocked as i was definitely skepticle about this. I am still not sold of course but i am much more hopeful as i did not expect to see ANY change for weeks if ever! I agree with all of the other parents- DO NOT listen to the docs that say "it will go away on its own and it just has to run its course" b/c more times than not, it spreads b/f it goes away (if it does go away on its own at all) and if you google images of MC, you will be horrified at what it can become!! Thanks for your blog suzy, just another reason for me to have faith in ZYMADERM!!

Hi ~my 5 1/2 year old has I would consider a pretty bad case of MC especially on the left side of her torso , under her arms and new 1s coming up almost every day . Our ped. prescribed bactrabanfor the few places that looked like they might be getting infected. Also started her on the oral cimetidine 2xd for 4 weeks , that was 2 weeks ago, and they are getting worse :( plus hers itch , and she is self concious of the ones on her arms and legs ~ she has tiny ones , and big ones ......we've tried the "duct tape" , didnt work , the apple cider that when i put on the first bump she screamed and cried for 30 mins because it burned. So today I bought Zymaderm & am about to put it on her bumps ... I need to be prepared is it going to sting or burn ? and do i cover the bumps with bandaids and should i put it on the red irritated looking spots ? Thanks for any answers to ALLL my questions :)

It won't burn unless there is an opening in skin. Keep the area dry!! Apply 2x day. Diligently. Up your vitamins to boost immunity - which is eventually what will beat the mc. If its on body, wash pjs and clothes after each use. Wash towels frequently if you can't do it each time. Do not share baths or towels. If its on face, changed pillowcase daily. Do not let up. The bumps have to dry up to shrink. When they are dry they can't ooze and spread. Keep them from spreading by not letting up from treatment avoid long baths and pools as the moisture may help the core to leak out of an open pore and spread. Think dry, dry, dry. Go ahead and blow dry after baths before using zymaderm. Good luck. Keep fighting.

My 2 1/2 year old daughter has MC on her back, only about 10 wart/pimple like pumps. My pedi told us that they should go away on their own in about 6-12 months. In the mean time I've read some articles about zymaderm and have decided to give it a try. We've only been doing it for 2 days and haven't seen any results, but I still have my fingers crossed. My question is, do you cover the bumps after you apply the product? I've been waiting for it to dry then putting a shirt on her, but was wondering about putting band aids on them to keep the medicine on it.

My 6 year old had Mc on the back of his legs. It was a year ago that i dealt with this and after being told by his pediatrician that there wasn't much they could do I requested a referral to a derm. The derm prescribed imiquiod ( sorry if I misspelled). The prescription didn't do a thing. After three weeks of no results and seeing the bumps multiply I started googling for different resources. I was relief to discover my son wasn't the only one suffering from this ugly virus, yet worried as too how many people were still strughling tryng to find a remedy. I came across ACV. We gave it a try an voila those nasty bumps started to dry up! My sons bumps went away, unfortunately despite all my efforts of not bathing my son with my DD didn't pay off and months later she came up with a bump on her bottom. Its been 6 months and they have multiplied. I have tried ACV, tree tea oil but no results. In fact on two separate occasions the ACV burned her skin. She has indicated that it hurts ( bumps) , but in speaking to my son , he informed me that they itch right before they pop. I suppose that's what my 2 year old DD is trying to say. So, after looking once again on the internet I came across zymaderm. I just applied it for the first time and I'm hoping and praying that this stuff works since my little one is very uncomfortable.

I am furious and confused. I just need to know how easy is it to transfer from one person to another. My 11 yr old has about 15 total with 3 small ones on his face with 1 being in the inner corner of his eye. We started the zymaderm on the 9th of this month. I will say its been about a wk and like 10 out his total 15 have shrunk down to flat now but 3 on his leg are starting to gush out puss I noticed and theg are crusty and have bled also. Do I still apply the zymaderm to the one that are oozing puss or just see his pediatrician becuz they may be infected? I also have a 1 yr old, can he catch it from my other son? Or is it contagious only if it's open. Can this be applied to face also. I can not say if this works just yet. I am optimistic! Howeverthere are a few that have made no change but again some may have been worst than others. My son has eczema which causes the dry skin along with good allergies which makes him susceptible to catching things. He plays sports and we feel it came from another kid, well we're almost certain because there's a kid that had some on his arms. We noticed the bumps a month ago and did not know what it was he only had one at the time we thought it was a pimple until he got strep throat and then they all came at one time which the virus pedi said caused more. I just want these to go away n not spread to the baby.

Hello. I apologize for the late response. I didn't realize I had a reply to my comment/post. But yes it most certainly worked for my now 13 yr who at the time was 11. I did notice keeping up with vitamins with zinc, vitamin c and d helped his immune system. The only thing is depending on how many bumps you have to cure you may need more than one bottle and one bottle is pricey enough. However, for us thankfully we only had to cure about 15 so we didn't use nearly half the bottle. Now fast forward to today I noticed my now 3 yr old has just 1 around his shoulder blade which is covered at all times by clothing but he had a viral infection from allergies causing a 2 week cold smh. So now we have to purchase this product again as we can not use the same bottle not because it is nearly 3 yrs old but because it's not good to cross transfer the contents of the germ. It is better to stay over from scratch with a brand new bottle. Hes actually had it for about 2 months but I didn't think nothing of it because it was just one and it always looked like a pimple, it never looked like what my son had before. So I thought we were in the clear but nope it has not gone away, still haven't spread but I am a bit worried that it might start as it is starting to look more familiar since his cold. I am going to order the bottle again and also include more Zarbee's Naturals Children's Elderberry Immune Support* Gummies, With Vitamin C, Zinc & Elderberry vitamins in his diet starting tomorrow because they're really good immune boosters. Good luck hopefully you are not still battling this. Please let me know if this information helps.
